Early this year, we gathered with our beloved Toki VIPs for an unforgettable day of kimchi making. After such a long hiatus due to the pandemic, reconnecting with everyone felt truly magical. To show our gratitude for the incredible love and support from our mummies, we hosted a special kimchi-making party! It was the perfect celebration for our mummies, who are also fans of our non-spicy Kimchi Cube!

Months of planning went into making this event a reality. Chloe and the team sourced for the ideal venue and found it at Let’s Yori, an authentic Korean cooking studio that teaches Korean recipes. Chloe even personally visited the studio to ensure every detail was perfect, from the space to the staff.

On the morning of April 12th, Chloe and the team arrived early to set up and check the venue. The tables were adorned with our popular Tutti Frutti Apple Juice, loved by both mummies and little ones. 

We also prepared cute bento boxes to delight our VIPs. These bite-sized sandwiches and fragrant floral milk tea were lovingly crafted by our fellow Toki Fam, Catherine from Sunday Milk Bar. Collaborating with her was a wonderful way to support each other and our cherished  community

At 1 pm, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived – our VIPs started to walk in! It was a joy to finally meet them face to face. There was a delightful mix of new and familiar faces, all greeted with big smiles and warm welcomes.

We also have a special guest — Baby Maddie! She's the star of the event, so adorable and melting all the mummies' hearts. Spot those little feet in her Attipas socks too!

Our Toki fam mummies quickly fell into easy conversation, sharing mummy tips and forging new friendships. Chloe kicked things off with a heartfelt welcome speech, setting a warm and friendly tone for the day.

Then, it was time to roll up our sleeves and let the real fun begin! We formed groups of 3 and dove into making two types of kimchi – Napa cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi.

The process of spreading the red pepper sauce on the cabbage leaves felt like giving the cabbage a little massage! Laughter and chatter soon filled the room as we shared conversations and got to know each other better.

Our adorable special guest baby Maddie is enjoying the event too! Sitting contentedly in her stroller, watching her mummy cook with a peaceful gaze. After a fun and productive two hours, we proudly finished our kimchi!

Our mummies were so speedy that the instructor taught us how to make an additional white kimchi as a bonus! Everyone left with three big tubs of kimchi, already imagining the delicious dinner recipes they would create.It was truly a team effort to make 9 tubs of kimchi at once. We did it! As the event came to a close, we reflected on the joy of the day and the new friendships we had forged. The day was more than just a kimchi-making workshop; it was a heartfelt celebration of our community. The laughter, shared experiences, and heartfelt connections were the true highlights, making the event memorable.

Seeing the smiles on our VIPs’ faces as they leave and hearing their stories of appreciation was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.
