General

Oral probiotics are specific strains of bacteria known to support a healthy mouth and improve oral health. The mouth is the gateway to our body. By keeping our oral health well, bad bacteria can be eliminated and hence improve our immune system. They encourage the growth of good bacteria and stop the growth of bad bacteria, which is responsible for the formation of plaque, gum disease, bad breath, and more.

Like the gut, the mouth has its diverse bacterial community known as the oral microbiome. Dental probiotics are like gut probiotics in that they use good bacteria to improve the health of the microbiome in the mouth. However, they’re not taken the same way as gut probiotics — oral probiotics are most effective when delivered directly to the mouth via lozenges, chewable tablets, milk, or probiotic drinks. Some kinds of toothpaste also contain oral probiotics.

Oral probiotic supplements deliver these bacterial strains directly to your mouth so that they can colonize the surfaces in your mouth. The use of oral probiotics may offer health benefits because of the way they boost the immune system of the mouth. (Taken from: https://oraticxusa.com/pages/our-probiotics-oraticx)

Harmful bacteria in the mouth reproduce the fastest while we sleep, so it is recommended to take oral probiotics in a clean mouth just before sleep. This allows for an extended period of time where the probiotics will be given to colonize. It is best to take the probiotics at night after all mouth cleaning routines. Do not eat, drink, brush or rinse your mouth for a minimum of 30 minutes after taking the oral probiotics. Also avoid antibacterial mouthwashes as these will kill both the good and bad bacteria.

You may break the lozenge into two. However, parents’ supervision will still be needed.

For the best results, it is recommended to suck on the lozenge so that the probiotics can stay longer in the mouth to fight the bad bacteria while populating the good bacteria. If your child does chew on it, the effect will be lower than if they were to suck on it. However, it will still be better than not taking oral probiotics at all.

OraTicx contains ingredients like xylitol, isomalt and sucralose, which are not sugars. Hence, they do not contribute to tooth decay. It is fully safe to consume OraTicx just before sleep.

According to the clinical trial results, which compared probiotics’ adhesive properties, active oraCMU® was still observed on the surface of the oral cavity of 84% of participants, who stopped taking oraCMU® 4 weeks ago. These results prove to be far better than other brands’ of probiotics, which measured an adhesion of only 6%.

There is a difference in the proportion of lactic acid bacteria contained in the two products. Green Breath contains 100% oraCMU, which is specialised for relieving bad breath. ‘Teeth and Gums’ contains both oraCMS and oraCMU in a 50:50 ratio, it can take care of both gums and teeth, as well as bad breath (although lower efficacy as compared to Green Breath).

Yes, you may. As it is a supplement and not a medication, you may alternate them according to your own preference or needs.

Both are effective to improve overall oral health and suppress bad breath. Although, ‘Teeth and Gums’ contains half the amount of oraCMU (probiotic that is targeting bad breath), as compared to ‘Green Breath’. Therefore, it is not as targeted in reducing bad breath as compared to ‘Green Breath’ which contains 100% oraCMU. You may also choose which to take depending on your needs/preference that day.

For the best results, it is recommended to allow the probiotics to stay in your mouth for an extended period of time. Hence, we recommend taking it right before sleeping, and after we are done eating or drinking water (as water may wash away the probiotics). But of course, you can take it during the day whenever needed. It is still recommended to avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after taking them.

Not to worry, this product is made to prevent cavities, and is recommended by dentists to take it right before sleeping so that the probiotics can remain on our teeth longer.
