04 Higher hardness than stainless steel knife
Dorco MyChef Ceramic Knife has a Mohs hardness level of 8, which is 2 levels lower than that of diamond, and is much superior to stainless steel which has a hardness level of 5.
The level of hardness shows the resistance against abrasion and scratch. It is measured using Mohs Hardness Scale by comparing the materials by giving them friction to each other.
05 Light and precise blade, excellent cutting power
The cutting performance of knives can be varied by what kind of material it uses, how it was manufactured, and the thickness of the blade.
Above all, the blade's edge angle is the most important factor deciding the cutting performance. The edge of ceramic knives can be honed sharper than normal stainless steel blade because of the difference in hardness.
Dorco's R&D center developed and applied the best performing edge angle for MyChef Ceramic Knives. By doing so, the ceramic blade can show its best performance, thus provides a sophisticated blade and excellent cutting power.

How to Maintain
Although there are MAJOR PROs to Ceramic Knife especially for preparing kids' meals, of course there are some CONs too. Ceramic Knife is not good for cutting tough or hard foods! Although they are hard, they are weak on impact, and may break if twisted or flexed. They are also more difficult to regrind than stainless steel knives due to the nature of the material.
1. Wash the knife immediately after cutting food with high acidity such as kimchi to reduce colour staining.
If there is a colour stain on the knife, cleaning it with baking soda and lemon juice will be effective. It is more effective if dried in the sun for 2-3 days.
2. DO NOT use ceramic knife to cut foods with thick rinds, such as pumpkin, pineapples, melons, and squash.
3. DO NOT use ceramic knife to slice a block of cheese because it might use a heavy force which will cause blade flexing.
4. When wiping the kitchen knife, wipe it with running hot water and wipe it completely with a soft cloth.
5. When oil or other contamination occurs, use dish soap and rinse thoroughly.
6. The knife should be stored in a safe place or in a knife storage box.
7. The handle of the knife is made of a lot of plastic, so keep it away from fire.
8. The more luxurious the product, the more important it is to store and maintain them properly. Enjoy a good knife that is hygienic and has long-lasting cutting power.

We provide free shipping for domestic orders over SGD $100. All orders are sent via trackable mail or courier. We aim to dispatch your items within 3 working days of receiving an order (Monday through Friday excluding weekends and public holidays), hence you should receive your items within 3 to 5 working days (also excluding weekends and public holidays). Delivery charge is S$4.50 flat rate for orders below S$100. Please ensure that a representative is available at the stipulated delivery address during working hours to sign for your package. If there is no one at home when the delivery man arrives, he will contact you to reschedule the delivery date.
If you require split shipping, please take note that an additional S$4.50 charge will be incurred to arrange for a separate delivery. This additional charge applies to orders both below and above S$100.
